Serving the Pacific Northwest since 1957.

Streich Bros has been in business since 1957.   Originally known as Streich Brothers Engineering, the business started in the basement of RJ's home in Edgewood with his two oldest sons, Wayne and Ron.  In the late 60's, RJ felt he had outgrown the home property, and in 1967 he found the current location.

In 1980 RJ retired.  By this time, John had joined the team, and in 1981 his daughter Chris joined the company.

Now we are one of the largest industrial maintenance facilities in the Tacoma area, staffed by fifty employees.  Our 35,450 square foot modern machine shop and fabrication facility is situated on approximately four acres on the Hylebos waterways, which includes 275 feet of waterfront with a marine barge loading pier.

At present we have sixteen engine lathes with 60" maximum swing and 26 foot maximum centers, and three horizontal boring mills and one vertical boring mill 100" diameter.  We also do dynamic balancing up to 5,000 pounds maximum weight (IRD), both in-house and in the field.
We have three press brakes (750 ton x 20' max), 2 sets of plate rolls (12' x ⅝" plate max capacity), 2 plate shears (1" x 12' maximum capacity), angle rolls (5"x5"x⅜" max) and an electric eye pattern burning machine.

Our Field Services equipment includes a 12  ton mobile crane, two 12 ton crane trucks, eight field welding rigs with stick or wire welding capability, and a portable boring bar truck.

Our welders are WABO certified (WA Association of Building Officials), and we are a union shop.

Streich Bros believes in the importance of our employee's safety and health.  We emphasize the integration of safety and health measures into every task and job - Safety, health, and job performance are inseparable.
